A ‘Must-See’ movie is the one that has the ‘script’ playing the ‘Real Hero’.
That just happens with ‘Talvar’. Tightly penned by Vishal Bhardwaj and
brilliantly directed by Meghna Gulzar, Talvar, is based on the
talk-of-the-Nation ‘Aarushi Talvar Murder Case’. The movie has not been ‘Glamorized’,
neither it is melodramatic which works perfectly with the events that unfold in
the most believable manner. The highlight of the movie is the Crime
Investigation which is so Detailed and to-the-point. One particular scene, in
which the investigation officers meet to discuss their reports, and argues and insults
and makes fun of one another, is so incredibly picturized that it becomes one
of the finest scenes Hindi cinema has ever produced.
The trailer of the movie might give you a hint that it’s a serious,
docu-drama kinda film, but it is not. It’d appeal to the masses as much as it’d
to the classes. The movie grips you like a python and doesn’t let you go till
the very end.
Irfan khan tops the acting department as always. (when does he not?) The
rest of the cast is also great. Not a single bit of over-acting. The film is
full of minute details, yet there is nothing overdone. Full marks to Meghna
Gulzar for keeping it real yet gripping and far from boring. A must-must-must
watch. 4 stars out of 5.
